Since times immemorial, Libraries have been at the heart of the communities they serve, providing access to huge resources of information, knowledge and cultural nourishment. However, the advent of new technologies has changed dramatically in the 21st century. Thus, today, libraries are at a turning point. To survive in the digital age and stay relevant, libraries need to be brave and innovative and embrace both the physical and the virtual renovations. In the wake of this revolution, DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, DAVCMC, conducted the first of its kind Two-day Capacity Building Programme for DAV Library Managers. This interactive, hands-on workshop aimed at bringing in the much-awaited paradigm shift - designating librarians as LIBRARY MANAGERS and ORGANISERS, making them well-versed with the latest innovations and trends in Library Management, using latest softwares and apps to revolutionise library management, revamping library spaces creatively, promoting interesting and engaging activities, hosting book launches, book discussions, talk shows with authors, etc., for students, alumni, upcoming writers from DAV community as well; with a futuristic aim to transform Libraries into Literary and Cultural Hubs. The venue was upgraded with displays of cozy reading corners and attractive displays recommended for a 21st Century library. The event also showcased a performance by DAV students urging everyone to convert the library from a 'Silence Zone' to a hub of innovation and activity. The workshop left the participants bubbling with enthusiasm and a new energy to bring in the requisite changes in DAV libraries.
